Islamorada Tarpon
Dusty and Mike accompanied me in Islamorada. We had a banner trip with four tarpon releases and we jumped at least two others. We caught snappers, jacks, redfish, and cudas as well. Sight fishing on the flats was good for lemons and bonnethead sharks as well. The weather was not the best but it doesn't matter, we got it done anyway. Pro Tip: You need to be "tarpon ready" as Dusty likes to say. Tarpon ready means to be prepared to drop off the anchor and react to the fish quickly. If you can stay connected for the first minute you stand a much greater chance of landing the fish. Most tarpon are lost in the first minute of the fight. Be prepared.
