Islamorada Family Fishing

Took the boat to the Keys for the winter. Patty, Ryan, Brady, and I had fun bending the rod on a variety of fish as usual. More to follow.

December Stripers

The weather was tough for us in December but the fishing was decent when we got out. Here are some pics from the last few weeks that I needed to post.

Stripers on the Troll

Fished with Matt, Mike, and crew in the ocean for stripers. We caught and released around a dozen stripers up to 33". The bite has been consistent. Pro Tip: Get a good hook remover and learn how to use it. Over handling fish boat side leads to unnecessary mortality.

Stripers

Fished with Chip and crew on Friday. We caught around a dozen stripers to 33". We had fish on the troll and on the jig. Pro Tip: When reeling in a fish on a mojo or niner rig, don't pump and wind. Steady pressure does the trick. Pumping just shakes the fish off.
