Montauk Albies

Patty, Ryan, Brady, and I headed to Montauk this weekend. Yet another blown forecast made us think twice, but we pushed on and were rewarded with near perfect conditions and happy fish. We had over a dozen albies on both fly and spin in flat calm seas. The Montauk albie blitz continues to be good and a better fighting fish for their size is hard to come by anywhere. Pro Tip: Use multiple sources for weather information and learn to interpret the forecast for your area. What they say is not always what happens. More importantly, knowing how the wind will affect the waters you fish makes a huge difference. Remember NOAA stands for Not Often Always Accurate.
