More Fluke

Fished with Amon, Michael, and Shamus yesterday. We fished in the bay for fluke. We caught them and lost a nice keeper just before he was reachable with the net. Pro Tip: Never pump and wind with fluke. There is a good chance you will just shake them off.

Fishing the Shallows

Fished with the Shallows today in the bay. Amon, Michael, and Tom joined me for a morning of fishing. We caught several fluke and had fun despite the breeze. Pro Tip: You should be able to feel the bottom when you pick up and lower your rod. If not you have seaweed, too much or not enough line out, or there is a fish on your line.

Take a Kid Fishing

Fished with Grant and Max in the bay. It's was Max's first fishing trip on a boat. He caught his first flounder and many more. It is always a blast watching a child catch their first fish! It never gets old. Pro Tip: Make fishing about spending time together. Not about filling a cooler. Memories last longer than dead fish.

Finding Fluke

Fished with Kevin, Zach, Chris, and Ben. Despite the wind, we caught a bunch of fluke and had one keeper. Plus, we found Nemo. Pro Tip: Casting our from a boat, even a little, tangles everyone around you on a drifting boat. Just drop it straight down, let the drift do the work.

Fluke!

Fished with Joe, Kelly, and friends on Friday afternoon. We caught a bunch of fluke and had a great time. Pro Tip: A slight hesitation before setting the hook on fluke greatly increases your chances of hooking fluke.

The Fluke Bite Continues

Fished with Jay, Tom, and JJ in the bay for fluke. We caught a bunch and we had one keeper. Lots of action. Pro Tip: Tides in our area vary from less than four feet to more than five feet. Bigger tides have a cooling effect on the back bay.

More Bay Action!

Fished with Amy and Heather and friends in the bay for fluke. The action continues to be good. We had fish all afternoon. Good numbers of fluke. Pro Tip: Tides are stronger on the new and full moons. Increased current can make drifting tough. Compensate with your engine.
