Islamorada Tarpon

More pictures from my trip with Joe and Larry in Islamorada. We had a great trip and had lots of big fish including this giant mangrove snapper and Tarpon. We also had great action with Sharks on the flats.

Islamorada Snook

Fished with Joe and Larry in Islamorada back in February. Fishing was excellent. We had many different species of fish including snook, redfish, sharks, and many others. The fish of the weekend was the monster snook that Joe is holding.

Tarpon

A few action shots of Greg's first Tarpon. We hooked multiple Tarpon and we did get this one to the boat.

Catching up

First with Dan and Greg in Islamorada back in February. The fishing was excellent despite questionable weather. We had Sharks, goliath grouper, jacks, snappers, redfish, snook, and many others. I'm catching up on my post for now and will add pro tips on later posts.

Tarpon

Fished with Mike and Ryan in Islamorada. We had tough weather on Saturday. Lots of wind but we persevered. We caught a bunch of mutton snappers and jacks. However, the main event was a double header tarpon hookup. We jumped one off after a spectacular aerial display and proceeded to chase the other. After a prolonged fight we released the tarpon boatside. We also jumped a third tarpon but lost it after several jumps. Pro Tip: Remember to not pull back on tarpon in the air.

Snook and Redfish

Fished with Mike and Ryan in the Everglades. We caught snook and redfish in the Everglades. We also had a few encounters with salt water crocodiles. It was a beautiful day. Pro Tip: Slow down your retrieve in off color water. Fish can zero in of smell and vibration of a live shrimp.
