January Tarpon on the Fly
Saturday night we snuck out to do a little nighttime flyfishing for tarpon. We have been finding tarpon consistently at night. We saw around ten fish and hooked two on the fly. We got both fish to the boat but played them till they jumped off. One was around 20 pounds and the other was larger and went 50-60 pounds.
Everglades Mixed Bag
Fished with Jodi C back by Flamingo. We caught a ton of fish including speckled trout, ladyfish, jacks, pompano, and oddly enough, bluefish (3rd pic down)! It seems they follow me around. We tried shark fishing for a change of pace and ended up catching blues on chunks of ladyfish. Everything else was on the jig or flyrod. Great day.

Silver Death Fish
Okay...they're not called that. It's just a ladyfish. But I think if they had a better name they would be appreciated more. They are a blast on the fly and on a jig. Caught a bunch today. Jumped one off that had to be over seven pounds. Lots of big ones to the boat plus specks, jacks, spanish mackerel, and pompano. Well over fifty fish.

Cero Mackerel
Cero mackerel can be found along the edge of the reef. They are a blast on the fly as well as on live bait.
