Montauk Albies and Stripers
Fished with Tim, Tiffany, and Zeph in Montauk on Saturday. The weather wasn't great but it was way better than the initial forecast. In fact, it was almost nice most of the day. The albies were a bit fickle but good casts produced cooperative fish. We caught around a dozen albies on the fly and some on the spinning rods. The bite slowed midday and we switched gears and targeted some structure to catch stripers. We caught and released eight schoolie stripers. It was a fun day. Pro Tip: Always approach surface blitzes from upwind. This makes for a stealthier approach and makes for easier casting.
