Fished tonight with Scott in the bay. We hit the tide perfect and found the stripers chewing well at sunset. Scott started off by catching a nice bluefish on the flyrod. We switched over to poppers and Scott caught and released about six stripers to around 27". We also had several other bites that never came tight. Watching bass smack a top water plug never gets old!
Fished today with Lori, Brecan, Luke, and Ryan in the ocean for sharks. We found them and then some! Shortly after we got started we had a full on shark blitz behind the boat. We caught and released around fifteen spinner, brown, and dusky sharks to about 100 pounds. The spinners were active today and lots of them took to the air with some amazing arial acrobatics. Lots of jumps today. Tons of fun!
Fished with Peter and Anthony today. We hit the ocean in search of mahi. It started off slow but perseverance paid off. We started out catching blues on the fly and on jigs and poppers. It was every cast once we found them. After that we continued our search and Anthony caught a nice ten pound mahi on a live bait.
Fished Sunday afternoon with Mike and family in the ocean for sharks. We caught and released several brown sharks and one monster dusky that weighed at least 150 pounds and was close to seven foot long. Sharking has been good.
Fished with Mark and Dominic on Tuesday. Dominic wanted to mix it up a bit so we headed out to try some inshore trolling. We caught some small blues and false albacore. The fish of the day was a 12 pound mahi. Then we headed in and caught some short fluke that we released. Dominic also caught a big triggerfish that was over five pounds. Quite the variety. Thunderstorms chased us home to end the day.
Fished today with Joe, Rick, and family. We hit the ocean for sharks. We had a slow start with no wind but we hung in there and were rewarded. The wind picked up and our drift improved and the bite began. We caught and released over a dozen sharks. At least five were around the 100 pound mark. We had dusky, spinner, and brown sharks today.
Fished today with Mike, Ken, Morgan, and Luke for sharks. We had a great day. We released over 15 sharks. We had brown, dusky, and spinner sharks. We also hooked one on the fly. The biggest shark was near 100 pounds today. It has been very good. We also had a small mahi that was released as well.
Fished yesterday afternoon with Mike, Tom, and John for shark in the afternoon. It was excellent. We released well over 20 sharks. We had spinner, dusky, and brown sharks. We also had a few on the Flyrod. It's as good as it gets right now.
Fished with Joe and family this morning for fluke in the bay. We had a steady pick of shorts. The fish of the day was a five pound fluke caught by Megan. The fluke can be caught in the bay and the ocean.
