January Tarpon

Little Mike wanted to catch a tarpon so our last stop was going to be for them.  We caught a few jacks while rerigging for the tarpon.  The first bait I put in the water was hammered by a tarpon right at sunset and Mike fought it to the boat expertly.  It was his first tarpon ever!  After pictures and smiles we sent another bait back which was also smashed.  We repeated the process and jumped four more tarpon but unfortunately all came unglued before making it to the boat.  We had a great time.

Islamorada and the Everglades

Fished with the Mikes this weekend.  We headed to the Everglades on Saturday.  We began by catching a bunch of beauty speckled trout.  We followed that by catching some puppy black drum.  We pulled the hook on a sight cast redfish on the flats.  The water temps have come up and the muddy water redfish bite has slowed but the fish have moved onto the flats.  We moved and caught a nice snook and moved on to catch a bunch of speckled trout.  Jacks were up next and we slayed them as well.

Jacks and Cudas

Fished with the Mikes today.  They had an early flight so we stayed close to home.  We caught around thirty jacks and cudas.  It was a blast!  I also dropped my phone overboard yesterday so if I haven't returned your call, I'm not ignoring you!

Crocs

In addition to catching a bunch of fish, we got up close and personal with some saltwater crocodiles in the Everglades. Pretty cool fishing a cast away from something that is that big and that rare! These are not alligators. They are salt water crocs.

Islamorada

Fished today with Dick and Mike L. The wind blew hard again. We stayed close to home and caught snapper, speckled trout and jacks. The redfish in the pictures were from yesterday's trip to Cape Sable. Great weekend. Lots of fish despite tough conditions.

Cape Sable Slam

Fished today with Dick and Mike. We headed to Cape Sable in a hard Northeast. The ride over was rough but it was worth it. We caught and released over 25 redfish plus snook, speckled trout, black drum, and sheepshead. Great day.

Florida Weekend

Fished today with Dick and Mike L. We arrived in Florida just in time for a big cold front to arrive. It was very windy but we caught fish anyway. We caught a bunch of jacks, barracudas, snappers, blowfish, blue runners, and other fish. We easily had over fifty fish and had a blast.
