Blackfin tuna

Fished Alligator Reef with Lindsey, Jodi, Marie, and Andy. Jumped off
a sailfish after a five minute fight. Caught a huge false albacore and
ended the day with a nice blackfin tuna (pictured). All the fish were
caught on live speedos we caught on the reef.

Ladyfish for a Lady

Back at Flamingo today with Andy and Jodi Clarkson. Ladyfish, redfish,
jacks, speckled trout, topsail catfish, sheepshead, and a lizardfish
rounded out today's catch. Lots on the fly but live shrimp was the
ticket.

Flamingo Black Drum

A better picture.

Windy Start

The north winds blew today making fishing tough in the morning. We
ended up back at Flamingo grinding out some black drum, ladyfish, and
sheepshead. Tomorrow looks nice.

Florida bay near Flamingo

Fished Florida bay today with Andy Gaudet. Caught an assortment of
fish including snook, redfish, a black drum, jacks, mangrove snappers,
and ladyfish. We were using shrimp, soft plastics, and I caught
several fish on the flyrod. The snook below was the fish of the day.

Getting ready for Florida

Most Florida fishing trips do not start out having to shovel your
boat. I wonder what state it will be when the last of the snow melts.

Culebra, Puerto Rico

Every year I make the trip to Culebra to fish with fellow guide and friend Captain Chris Goldmark. Capt Chris is an excellent bonefish and tarpon guide on this remote and out of the way island. The bones are big and the tarpon are a blast. The laid back atmosphere on the island can't be beat. Check out Capt Chris's website http://www.culebraflyfishing.com/ . I also host trips to the island and many other locales. Check out the Traveling Fisherman section of my website.

December Stripers

Another December striper...

Striper Blitz 2009

We have had blitzing stripers and bluefish since the last week or so
of October. We are still catching fish and typically have good action
till Christmas. This has been the trend for several years. It is not
to be missed. Www.gibsonstackle.com These pictures are just a sampling.

Striper Blitz

Had a great trip yesterday jigging over 35 bass and blues with Mario,
Matt, Scott, and Charlie. The bass were up to 34 inches and the blues
averaged 10 pounds. The winds were blowing and it was a bit sporty but once we found the fish rods were bent constantly. Lots of double,
triple, and even a few quadruple headers.
