Sharks on the Fly 2013

Here is the sharks on the fly video from this past season.  Enjoy.  We catch brown, dusty, and blacktip sharks on the fly all summer long here in Sea Isle.  What a blast on a ten weight.

Sight Fishing Sharks

Fished with the Mikes today. Perfect conditions and finally warm. Hit the flats to take advantage of the crystal clear water clarity. We poles the flats looking for sharks to catch on light tackle. We ended up catching and releasing three lemon sharks to almost fifty pounds and two bonnet head sharks. We also missed a few. Lots of action. What a blast on ten pound test. We were able to see the entire process from bite, to fight, to release. Awesome. Little Mike wanted it noted that his was the larger of the two bonnet head sharks in the photo. Dad just happened to be holding it.

Everglades Variety Pack

Fished with the Mikes again today. It was pretty brisk this morning for Florida. We made the ride to the Everglades again and caught a bunch. We had snook, redfish, specks, jacks, bluefish, ladyfish, lizardfish, sheepshead, snappers, and others. It was cold in the morning but it warmed up nicely in the afternoon.

Cape Sable Snook

Fished yesterday with the Mikes. We headed to the backcountry in much better weather than was forecast. What a nice change! We caught snook, black drum, specks, jacks, ladyfish, and sheepshead. We also had a few shots at some nice redfish on the flats but didn't connect. It was a really nice day.

More Florida Pics

Fishing was great in the keys last week. The snook and black drum bit really well in the Everglades. The specks, lady fish, bluefish, and jacks bit really well in Florida bay. We caught a ton. The reds and bonnet head sharks were on the flats. We caught them sight fishing. Close to Islamorada, the jacks were thick and we had a few close to ten pounds. We didn't do much tarpon fishing but we jumped a big one the one day we did. They are there.
