Cobia and Sharks
Greg, Ryan, and I headed out in the ocean today. We went with an open mind and had multiple options we could pursue. Opportunity presented itself in the form of cruising cobia right off the bat. We fed one right away but it promptly broke us off. We had a second shot with a different fish and this time we stayed buttoned. Greg fought the fish well and after a protracted battle we brought the fish to the boat. We were able to keep this fish since it was caught inside of three miles and cobia is open in state waters. It weighed forty pounds and measured 45 inches. After the cobia, we caught and released a few dusky and brown sharks before calling it a day. Pro Tip: Keeping the sun behind you allows you to see into the water much better when looking for cruising fish.
