Islamorada Weekend

Fished with Joe R and Bob the Builder in Islamorada. Saturday we fished the reef and Joe fought a 15 pound false albacore to the boat that he hooked on a live ballyhoo. After the trip to the reef we made our way into the backcountry. Back near Flamingo we caught over 100 fish including: specks, ladyfish, jacks, Spanish mackerels, and bluefish. We also hooked and briefly fought a huge tarpon that was well in excess of 100 pounds. Unfortunately, the tarpon threw the hook after a brief fight. It was a great day that included a 150 pound tarpon that tried to eat a ladyfish right next to the boat.
