Islamorada
Fished with the Mikes last Sunday. It was very windy but we fished anyway and caught a bunch. Jacks saved the day and we had good action. We also caught a bunch of snappers and blue runners too. Pro Tip: Sometimes Gulp baits on a jig out produce live bait. Jacks frequently like a rapid retrieve that cannot be done with live bait.
Islamorada Tarpon
Fished last Monday with the Mikes. We caught a bunch of fish including jacks, snappers, grouper, and more. The highlight of the day was a nice tarpon that little Mike caught. I included an old picture of little Mike and one of his first tarpon he caught with me years ago. Pro Tip: Tarpon mouths are rock hard. There are only a few places that a hook will stick. One of the best places is called the "button'. It is a small soft spot on the roof of the tarpon's mouth. Jigs are especially good at finding this spot and sticking there.

Islamorada Tarpon
Fished with the Mikes this weekend in Islamorada. We had a great day Saturday sight fishing bonnet head sharks and lemon sharks. We caught and released several. We moved on and caught some snappers, jacks, and speckled trout. We finished off the day with big Mike releasing a tarpon. Great day. Pro Tip: Sometimes the bite window is very small. Make sure you are there and ready when it happens. We were and it paid off!

January Stripers
Darryl, Ryan, and I headed out on Sunday. It was epic. January fishing can be awesome. We released a bunch. Lots of triple headers. All on jigs. Pro Tip: Every year is different, but stripers after the new year are always a possibility.
