Islamorada Fishing

Fished with the Mikes on Monday in Islamorada. The wind was blowing so we stayed close. We caught more jacks and blue runners than we could count. We then hit the flats and missed a few bonnet head sharks and released another shark. It was a blast!

Islamorada Fishing

Fished with the Mikes again yesterday. We hit the flats first. Big Mike started the day off with a lemon shark that was pushing 100 pounds. We caught it sight fishing in less than a foot of water. He landed the fish on ten pound test. A great catch! We also caught a few bonnet head sharks and we broke off a bigger lemon shark that was well over 100 pounds. Then we went to Flamingo and caught snook, redfish, black drum, speckled trout, jacks, and lady fish. We finished up the day around Islamorada and live baited big jacks to 13 pounds and pulled the hook on a tarpon. Beautiful day!

Big Jacks

Fished with the Mikes in Islamorada yesterday. We started out first thing in the morning catching more jacks and blue runners than we could count. We moved on to the back country and caught ladyfish, speckled trout, and a snook. We finished out the evening catching two big jacks on live bait. One was almost ten pounds.

Saltwater Sportsman

I have a minor cameo in this month's Saltwater Sportsman. (Minor cameo is redundant isn't it?). That's me holding one of our spring weakfish. I'm hoping for another spring with more big trout! My picture does not necessarily mean I agree or disagree with the article.

Sailfish

Today Patty and I fished with our friends Lindsey and Jody in Islamorada. We went out on the reef and Patty caught her first sailfish. The top picture is the remora that fell off the sailfish that I stuck on her arm. Great fight with lots of jumps.

Sharks on the Flats

Patty and I hit the flats to look for tarpon and sharks. We had lots of shots at baby tarpon but we couldn't seal the deal. We did manage some sight fishing for lemon sharks and released three or so.
