Snook and Black Drum
Fished with Mike today. We headed out into the backcountry and found a bunch of fish. We caught over a dozen snook to about twelve pounds. We also caught a bunch of black drum from three pounds to over thirty pounds. We rounded out the day catching specks, lady fish, sheepshead, and jacks. We had fish all day.

Cape Sable
Patty, the boys, and I headed into the backcountry today. We caught several snook, tons of specks, jacks, and big lady fish today. We also caught two bluefish of all things. I guess they follow me around.
Back in Florida
Patty, the boys, and I headed out yesterday for our inaugural Florida trip. We stayed close and caught a bunch of nice jacks and snappers. It was great catching fish in warm weather again.

Time for Florida
There are still stripers around and the tog are biting but things are starting to get cold. The bass will bite for a few more weeks but now is the time to plan ahead for Florida. I fish out of Islamorada, Florida Keys from Christmas through Easter (December through April). My specialty is winter weekend fishing getaways. I will help plan and arrange your fishing weekend in Islamorada. A standard weekend involves flying down on Friday night. We fish a mega day Saturday (sunrise to sunset) and a full day Sunday (7-3). Three day weekends are two mega days and a full day. I can help with flights, car, and lodging. This is a great mini vacation you can fit around work. If mega days aren't your thing, we simply fish around your schedule. We catch fish regardless of the weather and it is always a blast. Most days involve several different types of fish and good numbers of them. It will definitely be a trip you will remember. Please call if you're interested and I will give you prices and more information. Afternoons are best to reach me at 609-827-3442.
For more information, review my blog posts from last winter for more pictures and reports from last year's trips. These weekends also make a great gift. Gift certificates are available for the holidays.

Forty Plus Stripers
Fished today with John, PJ, and Colin. We headed out in much better conditions today. We decided to jig. We found the birds early and the fish. It was good but the birds were a little schitzo and the fish were constantly moving around. We caught a bunch and then settled in to catch them with out the bird's help. We dialed them it and caught one after another. The biggest of the day was around 17 pounds and we ended up releasing over forty stripers. We also had a few gator blues mixed in as well.
Striper Saturday
Fished yesterday with Kevin and Zack. It was blowing northeast and rough. We headed out anyway. We stayed close and trolled up twelve stripers and kept three. The biggest fish was around 30 inches. It was steady action, but mostly one at a time. Rough or not, it was a beautiful day.

Stripers on the Jig
Fished with Peter and crew yesterday. It was very good. We found the birds early and the fish. We jigged up and released over 50 stripers. The fish ranged from 26-over 40 inches. The biggest fish of the day weighed about 22 pounds. We had three or four big blues to sixteen pounds. We also released a few fluke. It was a very productive day. We had lots of double and some triple headers. It was a beautiful day with lots of fish.

Striper Bite is Strong
Fished yesterday with Kevin and crew. The bite was mostly on the troll. We hooked up less than one minute after we started fishing with a double header of stripers. We caught a dozen or more bass. Three of those were over twenty pounds, with the largest being 24 pounds. Many were in the high teens. We also had several gorilla bluefish on the troll and we also had a few jigging as well. One big fluke was also released on the troll and one on the jig. We kept several stripers for the dinner table and released the rest. It was a classic fall striper day with great action. I would have taken more pictures but the bite was so good I didn't have time!

Sunday Afternoon with the Boys
Went right back out Sunday afternoon with Ryan, Dusty, and Dusty. We got right back into them. The stripers were on the surface and we caught and released a bunch. Lost count but at least fifteen. We had fish on jigs and Dusty and I took turns catching then on the fly. There were perfect fly rod conditions: flat calm, no wind, small bait, and fish on the surface. We hooked one after another on the fly rod with floating lines. Couldn't ask for much more.

Top Water Stripers
Fished this morning with Mike, Mike, and Alec. We left in zero visibility Scooby Doo fog. We fished in zero visibility Scooby Doo fog all morning. We found them anyway. We released over fifteen stripers on jigs today. All were double digit fish and four were twenty or close to twenty pounds. It was good. However, we worked for every fish and I had to use a few tricks to get them to eat. The stripers are here and they are big.
They're Here
Yesterday, I headed out with Darryl and Mike. We only had a limited time in the morning but we found them. The stripers cooperated by hitting jigs and we released bass to around eighteen pounds. Things are really starting to heat up.

Bay Stripers
Ryan and I headed out for a quick sunset trip on Wednesday. We got into the bass quickly. In a short period of time we had seven stripers to 27" on jigs. We also missed a few bites. The back bay schoolie bite has been decent.

Blowing a Gale
Fished today anyway with Dick and Mike in Montauk. We were glad we did. We ended up releasing four or five stripers and over thirty blues. The blues were up to sixteen pounds. All were caught on jigs. We had multiple triple headers and a bunch of doubles. It was rough but good. Tomorrow may be another story.
